Johns Island is just over the Stono River from James Island and is also accessed via the Limehouse bridge from Highway 17 in West Ashley. Johns Island historically has been an agricultural community with the Resorts communities of Seabrook and Kiawah at its southern end. Johns Island is the largest Island in South Carolina and the fourth largest on the east coast. Today, Johns Island is growing rapidly and transforming into a residential suburb of Charleston.
